Grenadier redcoat circa 1812+ by GeneralVyse Grenadier redcoat circa 1812+ by GeneralVyse
Grenadier of Militia uniform, about 1812+ though no-one can identify the tunic for sure. Basically showcasing my shako that i made. Trousers are modern but passable - the fly front was in use before the fall front!

Hope you find them useful - i've made a sample diorama of how they might be used in my scraps

Actually,

Tunic looks kinda like the 58th Rutlandshire Regiment of Foot, though

Might I ask how you made the Shako and where you found the redcoat?

Can I get one of these pictures in a higher resolution? I need the 4th from the right on the middle row (the one where you're pointing at the ground).

Very nice, and the shako is bang on! Great help to me in a picture I'm doing at the minute. The tunic might be from the King's Own Regiment of Foot, or another Royal Regiment, if the lace on the front and cuffs are plain white. :D

Thanks for the info, and glad you like them, sorry the quality is so poor!

We've agreed that it's most likely militia as it has 10 buttons instead of the usual nine, plain lace and not ... fuzz... on the epaulettes.

Have you ever thought of working on a movie set and doing costumes? Or even plays? You have awesome talent.

It'd be cool, but i have no idea how i'd get involved in something like that and my 9-5 job saps all of my time these days.

I think you could do well with such a job. Though I'm no help. I have no idea how one would get into something like that.

I hope to chum, im trying to get involved in a local group of Cheshire regiment reenactors of the War of Independence. As for this uniform; NO-ONE knows for sure what it's meant to be - no-one. Consensus is that it must be a group of Militia of Volunteer regiment - not as stringently regulated uniform wise...
